How many seeds in a pumpkin?

Yesterday we did an experiment to see how many seeds were in a pumpkin. Students made predictions at first and then we dug in to see how many seeds were in our pumpkins. Our answers varied from 400 to 550! We learned that each line on the outside of a pumpkin equates to a line of seeds on the inside. Also, did you know that small dark orange pumpkins make the best tasting pumpkin pies? We had a lot of fun. Thank you to all of the families that donates pumpkins.
